Parade contingents are required to register in advance however, this community event is free to enjoy as a spectator. Now, as the largest single-day civic event in the region, the San Diego Pride Parade attracts over 200,000 people. Held in June of 1974, the original parade saw 400 people march and rally in Balboa Park.
